Argo Domenici: the bisexual porn photographer

On the very good advice of Curty I contacted Argo who kindly accepted to give me an interview. Argo and I agreed to meet at his home on “Hedonism Isle”, a very pleasant place I have to say.

He welcomed me on the front porch and we decided to sit here and realize the interview while looking at the fantastic scenery in front of us. I definitely like the people to feel at ease when doing those interviews.

“So Argo, I know already your flickr account but is there other blog or media on which your work is available?”

No, not really. Since most of my work is really for myself, flickr is my only media outlet.

“That’s fine, I just need this for my readers to ensure they won’t miss any bits of your work” I said with a smile. He chuckled.

Nope, it’s all there on flickr, for all to see.

“Argo, tell me, how would you describe your art? What would you tell to someone who does not know what you do?”

He tilted his head slightly before answering:

Well, firstly I would tell that that it is my idea of porn. Porn can be pretty individual, not everyone is excited by the same thing. For some of my shots I try to focus on the other model, to try to give a sense of what they are feeling. If the picture can manage that connection then hopefully it is capturing the intimacy of the shot as well. Other shots are just fun porn images that I like.

“What kind of porn do you like in particular? What are the kind of scenes you like or dislike?”

My likes go in two directions. There is porn with bright lights, rich colors, and a feeling of fun that I find entertaining. The other direction is darker, harsher and aggressive fucking that just draws you in with its intensity.

“I see. What is your personality? How do you define yourself?”

He laughed and answered finally.

Very much like the types of porn I enjoy. On the whole I’m probably a nice guy but there’s a dark streak in there also. Someone once called me a ‘shy dom’ and that is probably the best overall description. It’s an odd way of putting it but pretty accurate.

“I think I see the idea, So how did you come to porn? What made you to do those pictures?”

It was kind of accidental. I was perving profiles and saw a flickr link on one. From there I discovered just how active and creative the SL porn community is. That led to trying out my own screen shots, to the groups, and to meeting some of the nicest, most intelligent people in SL.

“Was it long time ago?”

Not at all, it was late last summer that I became interested. Once I started seeing what others were doing, I decided that porn was a good way to explore my own creativity.

“As far as I can tell you have no production company, you produce in your own name. Is it a deliberate choice?”

For now, yes it is. There are a couple studios that I am working with but I prefer to have control I have when doing work. Working with others, posing for others is completely fine, and I enjoy it. But for my stuff I like to maintain that control.

“Out of curiosity which studios are you working with?”

Currently I’ve done work for DV8, True Ginger, SL Confidential. I’ve also talked with Sinfully Divine and COX, but because of RL have not had a chance to do work for them yet.

“How do you select your models? What is the process?”

There are a few that I typically work with. I think that happens because people get comfortable with each other. Sometimes I’ll try to catch someone because I enjoy their work or style. Once in a while I’ll ask in one of the groups if anyone is available.

“We have interviewed a few models at SLA Media, men and women. If you’re interested to get new models we can perfectly put you in contact.”

Thank you, it’s good to meet new people and hear their ideas.

“Excellent! The most difficult question now…. I would like you to select in your collection 3 to 5 pictures which you are particularly proud of and for each one tell us why.”

Hmm wow!! Ok, let me see. This one is probably my current favorite mostly because the lighting was accidental. It happened going through windlights and I don’t even remember which setting it was.

“Fantastic shot and model!”

Thank ya! This next one I like because it illustrates that idea of focusing on the model, trying to capture what she’s feeling rather than myself.

“Yes the shadowing is really nice here.”

And there’s this one. It came out sexy and fun, but not with porn. A lot of people on early chat about coffee so they kind of inspired a bit of fun with the idea.

“Lovely, the smile is perfect!”

That’s probably my favorite part of that one.

“Any other shots you would like to comment?

Yes, one more. This one is important to me because in SL and RL I’m bisexual. There is very little bi porn out there that involves men. It is usually FFM. I’d like to see more openness and acceptance of guys who enjoy both women and men. It is very encouraging that several producers are eager to put more MMF bi porn out there.

“There are definitely very few of them.”

Hopefully we can change that and show people that it is just as sensual and erotic as any other type of porn.

“How many pics and vids did you produce so far? What tools do you use in world? What tools do you use to post-process?”

I’ve probably got twice as many pics on my pc than on flickr, so 400ish. I havent produced any videos, but enjoy being in them. I’ll leave video to those who can see the whole scene. In world I use anypose for just about everything. Sometimes I’ll try to capture a shot from an animation but I don’t have the patience. Post-processing is all in GIMP – big shout out to those who make youtube tutorials!

“What are your next projects?”

Well, I’m going to continue with the series dark and light series. There are several ideas that I’d like to work out that involve harder scenes, edging up to BDSM without being BDSM. There is a more fun series that is about a hapless lifeguard who spends his time at the beach doing anything but life-guarding. Plus there’s the bi MMF shots, and for those I’ve got a ton of ideas and suggestions already.

“It sounds like there is plenty to come! Ok my last question now. Tell us something about you that could surprise us!”

Well, I never took a screenshot, used a photo editor, or posted anything more interesting than my cat before getting started in SL porn. It’s been an interesting learning curve

“Well I think we are done Argo, thank you for your time!”

Thank you very much for contacting me and asking! I’ve enjoyed it a lot.

This is how the interview finished. I shook his hand, trying not to look too obviously at his perfect torso and said good-bye. I hope SLA Media will work with Argo soon.
